Our story

It started with a question we couldn't answer

In early 2025, the marketing teams we worked with kept asking the same thing: are we visible in ChatGPT and Perplexity, and how would we know? At first, we couldn't tell them.

Back then, most companies typed a few prompts into ChatGPT ad hoc and treated the result as a measurement. But that is one answer, from one model, on one day. Measuring AI visibility in a structural way means running the same prompts again and again, and counting the results.

So we built that ourselves. Rankshift opened to the public in May 2025. Today it tracks nine AI engines for more than 850 marketing teams.

    Co-founder

    Before Rankshift, Pieter worked as an SEO specialist for enterprise companies and at an SEO agency. (He also co-founded the Belgian SEO agency Depends, which he exited in July 2026.)

    That background shaped how Rankshift is priced: credits instead of seats or projects, and a tracking frequency each customer sets. He looks after marketing, demos, customer support and product strategy.
